On Saturday, September 29, 2012, the Village of Bannockburn is sponsoring its first ever Battle of Bannockburn Barbecue Competition.
The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a 5K Walk/Run run by Midtown Athletic Club. The 5K Event will end at the Bannockburn Green Retail Center. Then watch local municipalities cook it out to find out who has the better grillers in the Battle of Bannockburn Barbecue Challenge at the Retail Center. The Battle begins at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 4:00 p.m. There will be food and entertainment available.

April's Reign will perform from 12:50 p.m. - 2:05 p.m. and 2:25 p.m. - 3:40 p.m.
