Changing a Driveway
Configuration Checklist
- Read the Zoning Code and Ordinance regarding driveways.
- Mark the new design on a copy of a current survey of your property.
Also determine and indicate the proposed driveway material(s) and color.
Calculate the Impervious Surface. Also note any
changes to the vegetation buffering which will be affected.
- Review the initial concept with the Building Commissioner or Village
Manager. Contact the Village to set
up this meeting.
- Revise plans (if necessary) and submit for ARC review.
ARC Application
- Present plans in ARC meeting and adjust based on feedback (if necessary).
- Submit final landscaping plan to the Village if required by the ARC.
- Submit Building Permit Application.
- Have surveyor or general contractor locate and mark property location
of new driveway. Call JULIE to mark for conflicting utilities.
- Secure Village Permit and pay fees. Begin construction.
- When project is finished, call for a final inspection, also review
with Village Manager or Building Commissioner.
- Have your surveyor revise your plat of survey to include the new driveway
configuration and submit a copy to the Village.
