How Do I Schedule Inspections?

 

BUILDING

Building inspections are performed by City of Lake Forest inspectors through a contract with the Village of Bannockburn. The inspection hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Before you call, you will need your building permit number, as listed on your permit, and the correct inspection code (see below). NOTE: A required inspection list was included with your permit.

Choose which service you want:

  • Schedule inspection: press 1

  • Cancel inspection: press 2

  • Get inspection results: press 3

  • Transfer to staff: press 0

At the prompt, enter your inspection code as identified on your inspection list.  If you are unable to locate your inspection, please contact the Village Hall at 847-945-6080 to obtain a copy. 

If you have difficulty setting up an inspection via the automated phone system, please contact Lake Forest at 847-234-2600 to speak with a Building Department representative. 

 
LIFE SAFETY
Commercial remodels/buildouts/additions/new buildings require that all life safety issues be inspected.  To obtain a Life Safety Inspection, Contact the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District Fire Marshal at 847-945-4066.
 
WATER/SEWER
Contact Bannockburn Village Hall at 847-945-6080 to arrange inspections for sanitary and/or water connections and disconnection.
 
GRADING
Contact the Bannockburn Village Hall at 847-945-6080 to arrange grading inspections with the Village Engineer.
 
ZONING ENFORCEMENT
Contact the Bannockburn Village Hall at 847-945-6080 to arrange a zoning enforcement inspection with the Village's Zoning Enforcement Officer.  A final inspection is required for all exterior projects such as, but not limited to, new single family residences, additions, accessory structures, landscape/hardscapes, etc.
 
LANDSCAPING
Contact the Bannockburn Village Hall at 847-945-6080 to arrange a landscaping inspection with the Village's Forestry Consultant.  A final inspection is required for all projects such as, but not limited to, new single family residences, additions, accessory structures, landscape/hardscapes, etc.
